Mercia Marina approached us to create a brand identity for their locally harvested honey, produced from beehives situated on their marina grounds in Derbyshire. They wanted the product to feel authentic, natural and reflective of the calm, waterside environment that surrounds the hives. The challenge was to transform a high-quality but visually unbranded product into something with a clear story, strong presence and cohesive identity. We began by exploring the marina’s landscape, flora and community values, using these as inspiration for a warm, minimal and nature-led visual style. From there, we developed a modern logo, a soft honey-toned colour palette and clean packaging that highlights the purity of the product. Alongside this, we crafted a narrative and tone of voice centred on locality, sustainability and small-batch craftsmanship, ensuring the brand communicates its ethical production and strong connection to place.
The final identity feels premium yet approachable, rooted in the natural beauty of Mercia Marina. Through thoughtful design, photography and messaging, Mercia Honey now presents itself as a meaningful, story-rich product with a clear sense of origin. The marina can confidently share their honey with visitors and the local community, supported by a cohesive brand that elevates its quality and purpose.
